Cross-country ski machines provide an excellent indoor workout. The machine should have a base long enough to match your stride. Arm and leg resistance should be adjustable and have smooth action. Be sure to purchase from a reputable dealer as used skiers – especially those that have been sitting for any period of time require servicing. Your health will be worth the investment!
